Bangor & Holyhead Circuit

Corona Virus

It is with great sadness that following UK government and Methodist Church advice all Worship and activities within all Methodist Churches & Halls will cease with immediate effect until further notice. At this difficult and uncertain time arrangements are being made to support self-led home based worship and prayers for everyone. Keep safe. Keep praying. Keep looking over each other in love.

Rev. John G Hughes. Superintendent Minister.
Bangor & Holyhead Methodist Circuit

Services from September

Although we do not know when (or even if!) it will be possible to resume services where we meet in person, John has prepared a plan for the quarter. We hope and pray that the planned services will be permitted. The plan is here.

Circuit Services

A service sheet you can use at home is produced every week. Here is the sheet for Sunday, September 20th.

From Sunday July 5th St John's Bangor will run a service over Zoom at 10:30am every Sunday. Other churches in the circuit have telephone services on some Sundays.

We are invited to light candles at 7pm every Sunday evening and place them in our windows for 15 minutes or so as an act of witness and a sign of hope to symbolise the light of Jesus shining in the darkness in our community.

Circuit Newsletter

To help us keep in touch while we cannot physically meet there will be circuit newsletters from time to time. The June edition is available here.

Read the New Testament in a Year!

At the recent Methodist Conference the "God for All" initiative was launched. It incorporates "A Methodist Way of Life", a plan to help us with personal discipleship. More details of both of these will appear during the year, and John Hughes is launching a circuit initiative to help us to read the bible regularly: "Read the New Testament in a Year". You can find more about it and a reading schedule for the year here.

The Wider Church

English speaking Methodist circuits in Wales belong to the Wales District. Welsh speaking churches belong to Synod Cymru.
